# Family / Erziehung — Emilia & Valerie

_Last updated: 2026-07-02_

## Scope
Durable operating context for parenting work around Eigenmotivation, Resilienz, Durchhaltewillen, Selbstvertrauen, Hausaufgaben, Frustrationstoleranz and Alltagsselbstständigkeit for:
- Emilia — 10.5 years
- Valerie — 9 years

Primary source folder: Google Drive `/Family/Erziehung/`.
Studied source documents on 2026-05-31:
- `Selbstmotivation_Frustrationstoleranz_Umsetzungsplan.docx`
- `Elternleitfaden_Hausaufgaben_Frustration_A4.docx`
- `Aemtliplan_Checkliste_Kinder.docx`

## Core principle
**Gefühle sind erlaubt. Die Aufgabe bleibt.**

Meaning: crying, frustration and resistance are allowed and calmly acknowledged, but they do not lead to endless discussion, postponement, special treatment or parental rescue.

Child-facing target sentence:

## Parent stance
- Calm, brief, clear.
- Less convincing, less rescuing, less moralising.
- Structure speaks; parents do not negotiate whether homework/alltagspflichten apply.
- In escalation moments, avoid long motivational lectures; they often intensify the emotional loop.
- Offer tiny choices only: e.g. Mathe or Sprache first; Aufgabe 1 or 3 first.
- Father role: evenings are not an appeal court. Ask briefly how the start went, which point was earned, what was difficult; back the mother’s line: task remains, help after attempt.

## 14-day start focus
1. No screen before school or homework.
2. After school: arrive, eat/drink, toilet/brief talk, then movement; only then homework.
3. Help only after own attempt.
4. Crying/frustration is accompanied calmly, but not rewarded with postponement or extended debate.

## School-day homework structure
- Arrival phase: 20–30 min eating/drinking/toilet/brief story; no TV/tablet/phone.
- Movement: 10–15 min outside, ball, skipping rope, trampoline, stairs challenge or dance.
- Mini-start: 2–3 min — sit down, open notebook, show/read first task.
- Work blocks: max. 60–75 min including breaks: 20 min work, 5 min break, 20 min work, 5 min break, optional 15–20 min. Then stop or give school feedback.
- Goal is not immediate motivation; goal is starting. Motivation often follows action.

## Help-after-attempt rule
Help is offered only after the child has:
1. Read the task aloud.
2. Marked or stated what is being asked.
3. Made a first attempt or formulated a concrete question.

Standard line:
- **Lies mir die Aufgabe vor. Danach helfe ich.**
- If refused: **Dann warte ich. Hilfe gibt es nach dem ersten Versuch.**

## Blockade / crying protocol
1. Name: **Du bist gerade frustriert.**
2. Allow: **Das darf sein.**

If crying continues: do not repeat ten variants. Calmly say: **Ich habe es gesagt. Ich warte.**

## Child-specific notes
### Emilia
- Math appears especially emotionally loaded.
- Possible perfectionism pattern: “keine Lust” may partly mean “I do not want to experience not being able to do it immediately.”
- Helpful family sentences:
  - **Fertig ist besser als perfekt.**
  - **Der erste Versuch darf falsch sein.**
  - **Mathe ist Detektivarbeit. Fehler zeigen nur, wo wir weitersuchen.**
- Praise process: continuing despite frustration; finding an error; strategy and persistence.

### Valerie
- Language and math are affected.
- Entry hurdle should be deliberately tiny to avoid immediate resistance.
- Mini-start examples:
  - Sprache: read only the first sentence aloud; underline only the verb; write only the first word.
  - Mathe: copy only the equation; mark only the numbers; say only whether plus/minus/times/divide is needed.
  - General: only first line; only five minutes; only Aufgabe 1.
- Tablet games on school days are especially worth watching; possible shift to Fri/Sat/Sun only.

## Screens
- Current amount (20–30 min) is not extreme; the observed effect is the issue: mood is often worse after TV/tablet.
- 14-day experiment: no games/Disney before school or homework.
- Alternatives: audio story, drawing, reading, Playmobil, movement, calm music, crafts, Lego, small household task, preparing afternoon together.
- Review after 14 days: afternoon stability, crying frequency, homework start quality.

## Sleep / energy
- Falling asleep around 21:15 may be within range, but can be tight depending on wake-up time and emotional thinness.
- Target: lights out by 20:45 when mornings are early or children are thin-skinned.
- Bedtime ritual should not expand; start early enough that 20:45 is truly quiet.

## Everyday responsibility / Ämtli
Key training field: daily repetitions of “I do something myself even when I don’t feel like it.”

Daily tasks:
- Clear own plate.
- Put school bag in fixed place.
- Unpack snack/lunchbox.
- Put dirty clothes in laundry.
- 5-minute room reset before bed.

3x/week small tasks:
- Set table; wipe table; bring trash/compost; sort laundry; wipe bathroom sink; order shoes/jackets; make own honey bread.

Parent prompt:
- **Schau auf deine Liste.**

Checklists:
- After school: bag in place, hands washed, eat/drink, 10 min movement, prepare workspace, check homework plan, start first task.
- Before bed: check school items, clothes for tomorrow, room 5 min, teeth, reading/audio book, lights out.

## 4-week training system
Visible point system for 4 weeks. Reward behaviour, not grades.

Daily homework points:
1. Started first mini-step within 3 minutes.
2. Stayed with work blocks.
3. Managed frustration without insulting/running away, or returned after a short break.

At 12 points: small reward such as choosing a parent game, baking together, small excursion, extra reading time, inviting a friend, helping choose favourite meal, clearly limited weekend screen time.

Weekly review: 10 minutes — what improved, what was difficult, what specific change next week. Do not moralise or bring up old failures.

## Consequences and school communication
- Fixed homework window: max. 75 min including pauses.
- If child worked seriously but did not finish: inform teacher that she worked concentratedly; task was too much or too hard.
- If child refused, cried for long, insulted or ran away: do not run a two-hour family battle. Homework time ends. Inform teacher factually that the work time was not used.
- Before implementing, teacher should be informed: home is introducing a selfständigkeitssystem and no longer wants two-hour escalations.

## Useful phrases

- Comparisons with the sister.

## When to look deeper
If after 6–8 weeks of consistent implementation there is hardly any improvement, consider a more specific evaluation, not as blame but to detect deeper load:
- Dyscalculia/math weakness, especially with math.
- Reading/spelling weakness, especially with language.
- Attention/executive-function issues.
- Strong performance anxiety/perfectionism.
- Social strain in class, especially for Emilia due to group dynamics.

## 2026-07-02 Life-preparation master frame

User clarified the desired long-term target is **not** “daughters should become invulnerable,” but: **stable inner compass, real self-efficacy, good people-knowledge, courage to hold their own opinion**.

Core formula:
- **Bedingungsloser Selbstwert** — “I am lovable even when I make mistakes.”
- **Verdientes Selbstvertrauen** — “I can do hard things because I practice staying with them.”
- **Trainierte Frustrationstoleranz** — feelings allowed; next small step remains.
- **Gute Bindung zu den Eltern** — connection first, then guidance.
- Parenting style: authoritative, not authoritarian/permissive — warm, explanatory, clear limits, responsibility; avoid excessive control that weakens autonomy and intrinsic motivation.

Family motto to use:
- **Bei uns bist du immer wertvoll. Aber du bist auch verantwortlich.**

Desired inner sentence for Emilia & Valerie:
- **Ich bin wertvoll. Ich kann lernen. Ich darf Nein sagen. Ich wähle gute Menschen. Ich übernehme Verantwortung. Und wenn etwas schiefgeht, mache ich den nächsten vernünftigen Schritt.**

### 8 life competencies to train

1. **Frust aushalten**
   - Daily small “frustration repetitions”: puzzle, mental math, room reset, learning something new without immediate rescue.
   - Praise process, not identity: “Du bist drangeblieben, obwohl es unangenehm war,” not “du bist so schlau.”

2. **Selbstständigkeit im Alltag**
   - Confidence comes from real tasks, not compliments.
   - Family contributions are normal, not punishment: plates, school bag, clothes, snack box, room reset, small Ämtli.

3. **Kritik- und Mobbing-Filter**
   - Teach filter questions: Is it true? Is it helpful? Is it from someone who means well? Do I even need to accept this opinion?
   - Practice calm boundary phrases:

4. **Eigene Meinung & kritisches Denken**
   - For society, school, group pressure, social media: **Woher weiss man das? Gibt es eine andere Sicht? Ist das fair und vernünftig?**
   - Goal is not ideological positioning, but thinking capacity: respectful without believing everything; disagreeing without becoming mean.

5. **Geldkompetenz**
   - Start deliberately. Sackgeld as learning field, not reward/punishment weapon and not tied to grades/normal Ämtli.
   - Swiss guideline context mentioned: Pro Juventute/Budgetberatung suggest around age 9 CHF 15 every two weeks, age 10 CHF 18 every two weeks, adapted to family budget.
   - Use three pots: **Ausgeben – Sparen – Schenken/Spenden**. If money is gone, do not rescue.

6. **Körpergrenzen, Pubertät & digitale Sicherheit**
   - Pre-puberty principles:
   - Smartphone/chats: accompany, not only ban. No constant secret spying as standard, but clear family rule that parents may inspect if danger exists. Discuss groups; screenshots for abuse; no private images; no meetings with strangers.

7. **Gute Beziehungen & Kollegenkreis**
   - Judge people by character/behaviour/values, not ethnicity/religion/status.
   - Green flags: kind, reliable, apologizes, respects boundaries, low drama, cares about school/hobbies, treats weaker people well.
   - Red flags: lies, steals, mocks others, sexualizes early, pressures, films embarrassing moments, extreme disrespect toward girls/women, normalizes violence, demands secrecy from parents.
   - Parent monitoring is protective when relationship-based: know where they are, with whom, rules, friends/parents, online time.

8. **Learning loops**
   - Sunday 10-minute family retro:
     - Was war schwierig?
     - Was habe ich versucht?
     - Was mache ich nächste Woche anders?
     - Worauf bin ich stolz?
   - Tone: not guilt/moralising, but learning and problem-solving.

### Hobby portfolio

- **Mädchenriege**: keep if they enjoy it; supports movement, group, rules, courage to perform, body feeling, discipline.
- **Reitlager**: very useful; animals, responsibility, courage, body control, handling fear, care, natural consequences.
- **EMK Jungschar Vindonissa**: likely good fit; 3 trial afternoons then evaluate: felt safe? leaders fair? nobody shamed? children kind? looking forward to next time? Christian context okay if orientation without pressure/fear/group coercion; leader culture and safeguarding should be observed.
- **Kampfsport**: possible if trainer is right. Goal is not “fighting,” but posture, distance, voice, boundaries, falling, evading, self-control. Good options: Judo, Karate, Taekwondo, BJJ, serious girls’ self-defense. Watch for calm/respect/de-escalation vs shouting/shaming/macho culture/violence fantasies. Try 3 months 1×/week, avoid overload.

### School, cultural differences and safety concerns

Core message:

If violence/mobbing occurs:
- Document date/time/witnesses, save screenshots, inform teacher, escalate to school leadership/school social work if repeated.
- Teach sequence: clear statement → leave → get help. Physical resistance only for immediate self-release, not retaliation.

### Puberty contact strategy

- Puberty is won through relationship + clear guardrails, not pure control.
- Weekly 20–30 min individual time per daughter with mother or father; walk, drive, ice cream, etc.; no interrogation.
- Most important parental first reaction when they disclose something difficult: **Danke, dass du mir das sagst.** First connection, then guidance.
- Safety rule: **Du kannst uns jederzeit anrufen. Wir holen dich ab. Im Auto gibt es zuerst keine Standpauke. Besprochen wird später.**

### Additional priorities not to forget

- Sleep/recovery: tired children become more thin-skinned, resigned and dramatic.
- Reading/language: good readers and arguers are less manipulable.
- Media & AI literacy: what is real, ad, manipulation, group pressure, what may be posted.
- Body image: protect girls early from comparison, filter beauty, diets, sexualized attention.
- Service to others: helping, responsibility, animals, making someone happy builds character better than lectures.
- Repair courage: apologizing, admitting mistakes, starting over.
- Faith/meaning/values: children need an answer to “what do I stand for?”; performance/consumption alone are not enough.

### 12-month master plan

1. **Month 1 — Familienkultur**: visible family sheet: “Wir sind freundlich. Wir sagen die Wahrheit. Wir geben nicht sofort auf. Wir helfen mit. Wir entschuldigen uns. Wir lassen uns nicht respektlos behandeln.”
2. **Month 2 — Frustrationstoleranz**: homework/start system, mini-steps, help after attempt, weekly learning loop.
3. **Month 3 — Ämtli/Selbstständigkeit**: fixed tasks; do not debate, show list.
4. **Month 4 — Geldsystem**: allowance every two weeks, three pots, no rescue, not tied to grades, family talks about prices/budget/saving goals.
5. **Months 5–6 — Hobbies**: Mädchenriege continue; Jungschar 3× test; Reitlager; Kampfsport trial; then choose consciously, not everything at once.
6. **Months 7–8 — Puberty/digital talks**: body boundaries, chats, pictures, group pressure, first crushes, uncomfortable situations; calm/repeated.
7. **Months 9–10 — Social competence/wehrhaftigkeit**: roleplays for saying no, getting help, handling rude comments, recognizing friendship red flags.
8. **Months 11–12 — External responsibility**: care for animal, sell/donate something, plan small family budget/excursion, help younger children, help at event.

Top 3 priorities if only three can be done:
1. **Tiefe Beziehung halten** — daily short real connection, weekly individual time.
2. **Verantwortung geben** — Ämtli, allowance, own decisions, consequences.
3. **Frust nicht wegnehmen** — accompany, but do not rescue.
