# Caption Guidelines — Digital Red Flags

## Default Caption Style

- static phrase segments
- active spoken word highlighted in yellow
- inactive words white
- no subtitle box
- no full-width dark bar
- subtle shadow/outline only
- max two lines
- mobile-safe lower safe zone
- never over the edge

## Language

Use beginner-friendly English:

- short sentences
- simple words
- no security jargon
- B1/B2 readability

Examples:

Good:

Open the app yourself.
If it makes you hurry, slow down.
```

Bad:

```text
Validate the communication channel before initiating the transaction flow.
```

## Segment Rule

If a sentence is too long, split the caption segment.

Do not shrink text until it becomes unreadable.

Preferred segment length:

- 3–7 words
- max two lines
- one clear spoken thought

Screenshot checklist cards may use larger static text, separate from subtitles:

- max three bullets
- 1.5–3s visible
- large font
- mobile-safe
- no paragraph blocks
